Write Excel file

Description

Writes data to an Excel file.

Parameters

Path

  1. Set a value: enables you to directly write the desired path. Clicking the 'Pick' button allows you to manually choose the path.

  2. Save the previous step result: chooses the previous function result as a path.

  3. Calculate a value: enables you to use available properties and methods to form a path.

Value

  1. Save the previous step result: chooses the previous function result as the data.

  2. Calculate a value: enables you to use available properties and methods to form a table. For example,

    {"My List": [{Country: "Russia", Capital: "Moscow"}, {Country: "USA", Capital: "Washington DC"}]}

Get dictionary key

  1. Use table headers: select this option if the header contains of words specified by the user (see the example above).

  2. Use column letters: select this option if the header contains of the standard 'Excel' column names: 'A', 'B', 'C' and so on. For example, {"My List": [{"A": "value (1,1)", "B": "value (1,2)"}, {"A": "value (2,1)", "B": "value (2,2)"}]}

  3. Auto: select this option to define a header by the input data automatically

Comment

Contains an annotation to the block. The input text will be displayed inside the block above the function name.

This function can be used whenever you need to write structured data to an Excel file. A good usage example would be a process where it needs to log steps in a data table form, with a line containing, for instance, all processing details of a file.
